Citizen Systems Europe, the leading manufacturer of barcode, label and POS printers, has launched an innovative new panel mounted printer, designed to boost productivity in a range of integrated POS applications, including receipt printing, ticketing, delivery slip production and barcode printing, where fast throughput is vital to increase profit margins.

Called the CT-P293, this latest thermal printer is capable of running at speeds of 150mm/sec and boasts a host of features, with quick change, trouble-free media mechanisms that cut downtime, making them ideal for use in busy retail, catering and industrial environments.

This new high performance panel mounted printer offers maximum flexibility and is capable of printing both 1D and 2D barcodes, while accommodating paper rolls up to 80mm in width, to suit the needs of almost all applications. Furthermore, it is particularly easy to use and features quick drop-in media loading facilities, with paper rolls normally taking just seconds to replace.

With a compact footprint and front paper exit, the CT-P293 is ideal for use in areas where space is at a premium. In addition, it features internal serial, parallel and USB interfaces enabling the printer to be integrated easily into existing systems and assemblies simply and rapidly.

Perhaps most importantly, this robust printer has been built to provide a long and reliable operating life in some of the toughest working environments, with extremes of temperatures and risk of contamination, including restaurant kitchens, warehouse and dispatch systems and specialised industrial equipment such as autoclaves. Indeed, the new printer features a particularly durable construction and sophisticated internal mechanism, enabling it to withstand prolonged use without the risk of damage or malfunction.

This model is also able to function reliably at operating temperatures as low as -20°C and up to +50°C, and is splash proof in accordance to JIS Class 1. Collectively, these result in a long service life of 100km of printing length or one million cutter cycles, allowing users to enjoy the benefits of fast and trouble free operating processes for longer.
